One of the earliest forms of transportation on water, the ‘canoe’, originating from the word ‘kenu’- meaning dugout. The first boats where made of trees hollowed and shaped, then the Canadian Aboriginals would craft the boats using a frame with wooden ribs with lightweight bark of birch, elm and sometimes cedar. Materials have changed, but the hand made canoe will ultimately follow the same design as thousands of years early. Enjoy the weekend and Happy Canada Day.
